Welcome

My name is Parker Cornwell. I am a Christian, husband to Jeannette, and father of seven living in Northwest Ohio.

By vocation, I work as a licensed funeral director. As the Preacher says in Ecclesiastes, “It is better to go to a house of mourning than to go to a house of feasting, because that is the end of every man, and the living takes it to heart.” I get to see the end regularly, and it has changed how I view the world and my calling to my family.

Life is a working draft. Seeing the end regularly has helped me live each small moment with more purpose. I see more joy and life in the day-to-day because that is all there is.

While these letters live online, the goal of anything digital should be to improve the analog. If you gain something from reading, use it to improve the moments you have left.

I’m writing these letters to leave a trail for my children. I want to give them words of wisdom gained in view of the end. This is a side-project written in the margins of a full life, but my hope is that it is helpful to you too.

Thank you for joining me. Please consider subscribing to be notified with each new letter.
